Everything about this photo is peaceful. It makes you want to breathe in the fresh are around you and holds a sense of serenity. This is exactly what I felt at the location, a sense of peace, quiet and tranquillity.

I set out at 4am in the morning to make it to the waterfall before sunrise. I also had never been to the location before and had no idea what to expect. Upon arrival I made my upstream through the lush jungle, with the sound of a powerful waterfall growing ever stronger. I could just see the sky starting to become light through the patches of sky that wasn’t covered by the density of the taller trees. Seeing the waterfall for the first time it took me a second to understand the sheer beauty that was in front of me. There was just enough light to make out the entire scene, granting me enough time decide on where to take the photo from.

I decided to take the photo exactly from where I was standing. It just felt right, because this is where I felt the most emotions from and wanted to translate the same feeling into the photograph. So I got my camera and tripod setup, did one or two test shots to check the framing and camera settings. The waterfall was flowing so strong it was creating an airflow past me and with that water droplets on the lens.  I cleaned off the lens and put the lens cap back on, whilst covering the camera with a shower cap. (Pro Tip: When staying at hotels always take the shower cap they provide, its perfect to cover your camera in wet condition, but small enough to not take up much space in your camera bag).

The sun started to breaking through the little gaps in the jungle canopy. The mist the waterfall was creating was a blessing and a curse, as it was putting water droplets on my lens it was also catching the light creating these beams of light hitting the waterfall. The scene almost felt like it was out of a fairy tale.

All printing and shipping is handled by The Print Space in London. Prints will be shipped worldwide from their UK or Germany studios depending on your location. 

Standard Flat Rate worldwide shipping is free of charge and typically takes 5-10 working days depending on your location. Please note that while shipping is free of charge, you will be responsible for any local tax duties. 

Prints are shipped in either a reinforced tube or crumble proof packaging to ensure safe delivery.
